Delicious Preview

Del.icio.us have released, through beta invites, a preview of a new version of their bookmarking site. I’ll start out by saying there is a big redesign that was already reported by Arrington weeks ago. He covered most of what’s new, so I’m just going to jump to my initial thoughts.
I didn’t know that my Del.icio.us bookmarks weren’t going to be transfered over to the new version. The import function isn’t working and I’ll assume it’s because this is a ‘preview’ and isn’t permanent. I will keep using it, though, and hope that I can import these new bookmarks to my old del.icio.us account.
There are a few features I’m looking forward to getting into.
Bulk
The first is bulk editing. Something that’s sorely missing in the current version of Del.icio.us is any kind of bulk editing of bookmarks and their tags. Also sorting and search of bookmarks, yours and your networks’, has been greatly improved.

Network
Oh yea, the network. Obviously del.icio.us wants to increase the social aspect of the site. They’re doing this by making it easier to add and follow other users and their bookmarking habits. You can also organize users into ‘bundles’, much like you would bookmarks with tags.
Search users or only your network. Even search only bookmarks in a specific bundle within your network. Delicious is opening everything up so you are able to be as particular as you like.
Notes
For each bookmark, again, Delicious will track who else has bookmarked it. Only this time, you can view the list of users with only their Notes [previously known as the 'description'] about the bookmark. There isn’t an immediate use for this, other than to gauge a general opinion of the bookmarked site, but some interesting things usually come out of the small features.
It’s all so pretty
There’s a lot going on in the Preview, but not so much that it’s overwhelming. It definitely looks better and is much easier to do everything you tried to do before [including search, tracking users and posting new bookmarks].
There isn’t anything to fault, as yet. Looking back to the regular del.icio.us, you realize just how much they needed to do the redesign.
