A big hassle working with Wordpress, or any website CMS, is having to use an FTP client every time you want to upload stuff.
Wordpress already has an inbuilt image uploader but there is something bigger missing. That is a theme and plugin uploader. This would be especially handy when sites first start out and are still testing the look and function of it.
In comes a plugin called OneClick that basically builds an uploader within your Wordpress admin to upload and install plugins and themes.
I can’t stress how happy I am with this plugin. Although some plugins haven’t worked, most have with absolutely no problem.
Recently Anirudh Sanjeev, the plugin’s creator, added an update that I am yet to install but will shortly because of some interesting features he has added in. Particularly the Firefox extension that allows you to install themes and plugins straight from websites.

UPDATE
You can actually use the old version of OneClick to upgrade to Anirudh’s latest 9.2 version! It was blindingly easy and quick. Just a great example of how well this plugin works.
As an upgrade, it’s worth the extra few seconds it takes to install. Now there is an Install from remote zip File option as well as the standard uploading of a zip file on your hard drive.
It’s also worth noting that OneClick will also be “Deleting misbehaving plugins from an interface that is completely independent of wordpress. Some plugins can mess up your entire install, and deleting them is the best way to fix them.”
